In addition to participating in a weekly Music class, we offer small group music lessons to 4th and 5th graders free of charge. Students are encouraged to try a band or string instrument if they are willing to commit to practicing 4 days a week at home. A 30 minute lesson is taught once a week during the school day to students who are interested in learning to play the following instruments: flute, clarinet, alto sax, trumpet, trombone, baritone, percussion, violin, viola, and cello.

 

Lionette Charter has 3 large ensembles: 4th Grade Band, 5th Grade Band and Orchestra. Participating students meet once a week for a large group rehearsal in addition to their weekly group lesson.

 

A spring concert is held in May as a culminating activity for all ensembles.
