The supply chain for our student meals is very tight. Vendors are currently unable to fulfill complete orders due to multiple districts ordering food. The demand is higher than their supply at the moment.
Please keep in mind: Due to vendor limited availability, all menu items are subject to change without notice. The posted menus are for your convenience but may change. We are doing our best to keep to our menu. Our priority continues to be to provide nutritious meals to our students daily. Our Online Menus are updated continuously and will provide the most accurate information about your child's meals.
The Child Nutrition Department is excited to continue providing free meals to all SVUSD students as an extension of the Seamless Summer Meal Program for the 2021-2022 school year. Every student will be able to get one complete breakfast** and one complete lunch per day free of charge. This will allow us to continue to help in the efforts against childhood food insecurity and ensure all our students have access to balanced nutritious meals while they learn. Breakfast is available at many Elementary schools and all our Secondary schools before school starts and is an excellent way to save parents time and start the day out right for our kids. Second meals, a la carte items such as milk at Elementary schools, and snack items and/or juices or bottles of water at Middle and High School are available for purchase if a child has funds in their lunch account or they bring money to school with them, but will not be given if the student does not have the funds to pay for the items. No child will be charged into the negative this year. We look forward to seeing your child in the cafeteria!
**Breakfast is not served at all Elementary Schools. Please check with your child's office for availability at your school.
Please visit our page about Free Meals for the 2021-2022 School Year for information on what qualifies as a free meal.
The Child Nutrition department is committed to providing healthy school meals to the students of the Simi Valley Unified School District in order to support student academic success and promote healthful eating habits that lead to lifelong positive nutrition practices. More than 6,500 lunches are served each school day.
We strive to meet or exceed the meal standards recommended by the Healthy Hunger-Free Kids Act of 2010. Our menus include fresh fruit, vegetables, whole-grain rich products, fat-free and low-fat milk, lower levels of sodium, saturated fat and zero trans fat in our meals.
Free, reduced and full paid meals are served using an automated accounting system that protects the privacy of all students.
